This is a victorian diamanté/paste belt buckles.
Here are 4 victorian belt buckles, they are all different in design and size.
1. The largest (rectangle) is slightly wonky, and measures 9.5cm x 3.5cm. There are no missing stones. This has a pointed hook to go through the belt holes.
2. Smaller rectangle buckle is also slightly wonky, and has no missing stones. It measures 6cm x 3.5cm. This has a rotating bar at the back which has 2 spikes - the third is missing. These spikes go through the belt holes and are then secured by a metal rotating bar
.
3. The third almost diamond shaped buckle comes in two halves, one with a hook that connects to the other. This has one diamanté missing and is more delicate that the first two buckles. The belt fabric is attached via a back bar on each buckle, the fabric would be folded over and sewn into place.
4. The fourth buckle is half of a pair, it is very pretty on it's own and would be lovely as a decorative item on a dress or hat. However, the diamantés are the same size as No. 3 and could, if required, be taken out and inserted into the missing space on No. 3 buckle.
I think it would the smaller ones would look fabulous on the side of a hat.
